Hello Everyone,
We have had a very busy week. We would like to tell you what we did.
Last week when we were at the childrens museum Nana bought us a book called Greyfriar's Bobby. It's a true story about a famous dog who lived a long time ago. He was a little police dog who loved his master, Old Jock, very much. Everyone liked Old Jock (whoes name was really John Gray) and Bobby a lot. One day Old Jock died and Bobby was very sad. He missed his master so much that he wouldn't leave his grave and stayed there for the rest of his life. Bobby lived for a long time after his master died and all the people around the church yard used to feed and look after him. The local government even paid his registration fees.
When Bobby died, everyone was really sad. They secretly buried Bobby next to his Master in the graveyard and they also made a statue for him out the front. On Friday afternoon we went to see Bobby's statue and the shops around the graveyard that he used to go to.
Here are some photos;
In the graveyard there was a creepy little shop. The sign for the shop looked really scary;
On the way back from Greyfriar's Bobby, we stopped to watch a street performer (magician). Ollie helped him do some magic tricks. Ollie cut a piece of rope using his fingers like scissors. He also said that i was so pretty that Ollie and I should go on a date! He didn't know were were brother and sister.
On Saturday, we met some more of Nana's cousins, and had a really nice lunch with Patricia and Elizabeth. Elizabeth lives in England. Then, on Sunday, we took Nana back to the airport to fly back to Australia. She is probably arriving in Sydney right about now. She was really sad to go.
At school I am having an awesome time. I've been doing cheerleading with my two friends Trisha and Jorja on Friday afternoons.
Bye,
Amelie

Tuesday 22nd Feb, The real first day of school!
Today was our real first day of school! I helped Ollie get ready.
I am in Primary 3 and have 2 new friends called Trisha and Jorja. Trisha has beautiful dark plaited hair (mummy says they are called corn rows), and Jorja has blonde beautiful hair. Tomorrow we are going swimming with the school. On Friday afternoons I am going to be doing Cheerleading at the school! I am also going to be doing Yoga. I am so excited.
Today Ollie did "mini kickers" at lunchtime, which is like soccer.
We do sports in the gym hall , today I played a game called toilet flush and some soccer.
My teachers names are Mr Forde and Miss Nelson. Oliver is in Primary 2, he can't remember the name of todays teacher, but he will usually have Ms Duncan. He can't remember the names of his buddy or his new friends, or the little girl who was sitting next to him ... but he says he is going to remember them tomorrow.
Ollie's teacher said he was Super, and even got all his work finished. My teacher said I was very quiet.
Ollie had a school dinner today, he had a hamburger, and he says it was certainly very yummy.
Mummy and Nanna went for a walk / climb to the very top of the Salisbury Craggs today, here are some pictures.
Mummy said it was very beautiful up there, but hard work. She didn't go to the gym today because she was too tired. Although she has been 3 times so far. She is trying very hard to lose some fat.

Monday 21st Feb, First Day of School (or was it?)
On Monday we were very excited to go to school. We got up early and got ready.
When we got to school, it wasn't on! It was a pupil free day .... bugger.
Because school was not on, Nanna took Amelie and I to a Toy Museum (the Museum of Childhood). We saw a big ferris wheel made out of mecano that was bigger than me (Oliver). We were allowed to play with some of the toys and Nanna bought me a toy plane. Amelie got a bunny called Snuffles.

Sunday 20th Feb, St Andrews
On Sunday 20th Feb, Amelie, Mummy, Nanna, Daddy and I went for a drive to St Andrews. At St Andrews we saw the University that Prince William went to, and then we had some lunch.
We also went to the beach and it was really freezing.
Then we went for a walk to the golf course, it is a very famous golf course. Can you see Amelie in the bunker?
The bunker has sand in it, and if you hit the ball into the bunker, it is very hard to get it out!!
We also played tips with mum and dad.
After that we drove home to get a good nights sleep before School.

Friday 18th February
Yesterday we went on a car trip in our new car.
First we went to Stirling to see the Castle. We got to Stirling a bit early and the castle wasn't open yet. We went for a walk to get some breakfast and saw some cannons. We sat on them and got very cold bums.
At the castle we saw the King and Queens chairs in the Great Hall. Ollie and I sat in the chairs.
The kitchens in the castle were below the canons, when all the canons went off at once, the kitchens got broken. They filled in the kitchens after this, but then later someone dug them back out so people can see what they were like. Now they have statues and things to show us what they had in there. They had dogs and cats eating some of the food, and a dead dear hanging from a branch that people were carrying. They also had a big basket of fish and a pigs head. All the fruit and veges were grown in the Stirling Castle gardens.
The castle has lots of turretts with holes in them to fire arrows. Here is Ollie peaking out of one of the holes.
After the castle we went to see Nanna's cousin Patricia. Nanna had not seen Patricia for 45years, and Patricia still lives in the same house. Nanna used to go to Patricia's house for holidays every summer. She lives in Dumbarton near Glasgow. We had lunch with Patricia and she made us pizza, she was very nice.
After we visited Patricia, we went to Ayr to see where Nanna grew up. We went to the beach, it was a nice beach, but the sand was brown, and it was freezing. On the beach we found a man drawn in the sand, with a rock shaped like a shoe. We found some rocks for Nanna to take home.
There was a round circly swing at the funpark near the beach, it also had some exercise equipment! It was really good. The slippery dip was huge and a bit scary, but Ollie went down the biggest one!
After that we were very tired and drove back to our home in Edinburgh.
Nanna said it was the best day ever!

Out and about
We have been out visiting some places in Edinburgh. The street at the top of our road is called The Royal Mile. At one end of this street is Holyrood Palace and at the other end is Edinburgh Castle.
Here is a photo of us out the front of Holyrood Palace;
This is where the Queen of England lives when she comes to Scotland. This photo was early in the morning and it was really cold.
There were lots of canons at the Castle. Here is a picture of the biggest one;
It's called the Mons Meg, and it is broken. Oliver got scared because Mum said she was going to light it.
Our new school is also on the Royal Mile;
We also went and saw the old cemetry that is next to our house;
Oliver's big blue beanie makes him look like Megamind!
Goodbye,
Amelie.

Yesterday, we walked to the Castle and had a look inside.
The castle was made a long time ago when Scotland was at war with England. The English people won the war and locked away Mary Queen of Scott's crown, a sceptre, and a special sword and stone for 111years. We saw all these things at the Castle.

We finally made it to Edinburgh
It is 3 o'clock in the morning and we are awake because of jet lag. Oliver fell asleep at the table when we were eating dinner at a resturant called Clarinda's.
The trip took a super long time.
Our new home is really nice and there is a nice view of an old cemetary out of our window. We have seen our new school, but only from the outside.
We are already missing our friends.
